Free is a real plan here, not a countdown. This page states the limits precisely, because “free” on an invoicing site usually means “free for seven days”.

Prices shown are US App Store prices. Apple sets the equivalent in every other currency, so yours may differ — the actual figure is shown in the app before you buy anything.

What counts against the free limits

This is the part most pricing pages leave vague, so here it is exactly as the app implements it.

  • Creating is capped at 10 new invoices per calendar month. Editing an invoice you already made costs nothing.
  • Sharing or exporting is capped at 3 distinct invoices per calendar month. Sharing the PDF and exporting the Factur-X file both count, and both draw on the same allowance.
  • Sending the same invoice again is free. The limit counts distinct invoices, not send actions — so chasing a client with a second copy, or re-sending because the first email bounced, does not use another share.
  • Both limits reset on the 1st of each month, and the sharing allowance is counted per company.

Nothing is taken away when you reach a limit

Every invoice you have already made stays readable, editable and exportable as a PDF you already produced. Reaching the cap stops you starting an eleventh invoice that month; it does not lock the app or hide your work.

What Pro adds

Three features need Pro, and they are the ones with an ongoing cost or a genuine multi-user shape to them — not artificially withheld basics.

The two Pro plans

There are two, and they suit genuinely different people rather than being the usual three-column upsell ladder.

PlanPriceFree trialWorks out at
Weekly $3.99 / week 1 week free $207.48 a year
Yearly $34.99 / year None About $0.67 a week

The yearly plan is about 83% cheaper

Paying $3.99 every week for a year comes to $207.48. The yearly plan is $34.99 for the same twelve months — roughly 83% less, or about 67¢ a week. If you already know you want Pro, the weekly plan is only worth it for a short burst.

The trade-off is the trial. The free week is on the weekly plan only; the yearly plan has no trial period. So the natural route is to start on the weekly plan, use the free week to find out whether Pro actually earns its place in your month, and switch to yearly if it does.

If you subscribed a while ago on the old monthly plan, it keeps working exactly as before. It is simply no longer offered to new subscribers, which is why it isn't listed here.

How the subscription works

Pro is an Apple subscription, bought and managed through the App Store. That has some consequences worth stating plainly:

  • Payment goes to Apple, not to me. I never see your card details, and there is no billing account to create on this site.
  • Cancel from Settings. Your name at the top of iOS Settings → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the app returns to the free plan.
  • The free week converts unless you cancel. That is how Apple's introductory offers work: when the weekly plan's free week ends it rolls into a paid week. Cancel before the last day and you are charged nothing, and you keep Pro for the rest of the free week either way.
  • Nothing is deleted if you stop. Your invoices, customers and companies stay on the device; the monthly limits come back and the three Pro features switch off.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, through reportaproblem.apple.com — I have no ability to issue one myself, which is worth knowing before you buy rather than after.

Why there is a free plan at all

Because an invoicing app is impossible to evaluate in seven days. You find out whether it suits you on the third or fourth real invoice you send a real client — which, for most freelancers, is a month or two in. A countdown that expires before you have properly used the thing tests your memory, not the software.

Ten invoices a month is more than a lot of freelancers ever send. If you are one of them, the free plan is genuinely all you need and it will stay that way. If you send more than that, or you want QR codes, sync or a second company, Pro is there.

Pricing questions

Is the free plan a trial?

No. There is no countdown and no expiry date. The free plan allows 10 invoices created and 3 shared or exported per calendar month, and it keeps doing that for as long as you use the app.

Pro separately offers a one-week free trial on its weekly plan, but that is a trial of Pro. It has nothing to do with the free plan, which does not run out whether or not you ever take it.

Do I need a card to start?

No. There is no account and no payment method to enter. You download the app and start invoicing; the App Store handles payment only if you later choose Pro.

Is there a free trial of Pro?

Yes, on the weekly plan: the first week is free. It converts into a paid week unless you cancel before it ends, which is how Apple's introductory offers work everywhere. The yearly plan does not have a trial.

You do not need the trial to evaluate the app, though — the free plan already lets you send real invoices to real clients, indefinitely. The trial is specifically for testing the three Pro features: payment QR codes, iCloud sync and multiple companies.

Weekly or yearly — which should I pick?

Yearly, if you already know you want Pro: $34.99 against $207.48 for a year of weekly billing is about 83% less, or roughly 67¢ a week.

Weekly is worth it in two cases: you want the free week first, or you genuinely need Pro for a short burst — one busy month of invoicing, or a single job that needs a second company on the account.

Does re-sending the same invoice use up another share?

No. The monthly allowance counts distinct invoices, not send actions. Once an invoice has counted, you can send it again as many times as you need that month without it counting a second time.

Does exporting a Factur-X e-invoice need Pro?

No. Factur-X / ZUGFeRD export is part of the free plan. It draws on the same monthly allowance of three invoices as an ordinary PDF share does, and Pro removes that limit.

What happens to my invoices if I cancel Pro?

They stay. Your invoices, customers and companies are not deleted when a subscription ends — the monthly limits return and the three Pro features stop working, and that is the whole of it.

Why is it a subscription rather than a one-off purchase?

Two of the Pro features have a running cost or a running obligation behind them: iCloud sync uses storage and has to keep working across iOS releases, and the Factur-X / ZUGFeRD output has to be kept correct as the French and German e-invoicing rules change. A one-off payment funds the version you bought, not the years of standards maintenance after it.

Are the prices the same everywhere?

No. $3.99 a week and $34.99 a year are the US App Store prices. Apple converts these into each storefront's local pricing, so your figure may be higher or lower, and the exact saving on the yearly plan moves with it. The app shows your own prices before you buy.
